Kristen Mabry is a graduate of Chapman University holding a BFA major in dance performance and minor in integrated educational studies. She was born and raised in Southlake, TX where she began dancing when she was three years old. Through her dance training, she began competing and attending conventions when she was eight, winning various different awards, titles, and scholarships such as National Miss Star Systems. She has worked with many different choreographers such as Jeremy Keaton (owner/founder of Adrenaline Dance Convention), Justin Giles(Soul
Escape), Sonya Tayeh, Mia Michaels (SYTYCD), Gretchen Patel (NYC Ballet principle), Joey Tarwater, Chris Jacobsen, and many more esteemed dance professionals. She has had the opportunity to train at The Broadway Dance Center, North Texas Ballet Conservatory, The Centre for Dance, Dallas Powerhouse, and KJ’s Dance Design. When Kristen was 10 she began performing with a singing and dance crew called The Radio Disney Superstars where she was hired to promote Radio Disney through shows across the country at venues such as Disney Wolrd, Six Flags, and The Dallas and Ft. Worth zoos. Kristen has been casted in 6 different productions of the Nutcracker performing roles such as Clara, Sugarplum Fairy, Snow Queen, and the Dew Drop Fairy. In high school, Kristen danced all four years on the Varsity State Winning Emerald Belle Dance Team serving her team of 86 as Jr. Lieutenant and Captain. Through her dance team experience she also had the opportunity to compete for and win the 1st overall statewide dance team soloist three years in a row. In 2009 Kristen was a top 3 finalist for Jam Cosmetic’s “Next Face of Dance” model, and in 2010, she began teaching at her home studio working with students at various levels ranging from ages 2-18. Since graduating she has continued to choreograph group and solo routines for over 50 girls with the Emerald Belle State Champion dance team and has helped many high school dancers achieve their own success at the state finalist competition. At Chapman University, Kristen was casted and performed constantly in shows such as Chapman Dance Alliance, American Celebration (raising over 2 million in fundraising), Fall Faculty, Works in Progress, Concert Intime, and Mainstage as well as competing two years on the undefeated National award winning Chapman Dance Team. Since graduating from Chapman with NDEO (National Dance Education Organization) honors Kristen has danced one full season consisting of multiple paid performances with the Sean Greene Shield Wall Dance Company in Los Angeles, and has continued training and performing in events such as the Miss Los Angeles pageant. Kristen continues to train with various instructors at professional studios in Los Angeles and hopes to continue pursuing performance opportunities alongside teaching with companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Odyssey Dance Theatre, LA Contemporary Dance Company, Entity and Soul Escape. Kristen is starting her second year teaching at Hart Academy of Dance and is excited for all that is in store for her in this next year of teaching.
