Laura Evans has been dancing since the age of three and competitively dancing since the age of 5 with San Diego Dance Centre. Here she trained in jazz, contemporary, tap, and ballet. While involved in studio dancing, she was a part of the Mount Carmel high school dance team for four years. Her team won multiple top awards both at regional and national competitions. Individually, she won WCE Improvisation Champion of the Year in 2010 as well as WCE Runner-Up Dancer of the Year in 2010. In 2011 she competed in the super dancer division at USA Nationals being one of two girls to represent her team in the solo category. In addition to dancing with her studio and high school dance team, she became a part of a professional contemporary dance company known as Unity Dance Ensemble under the direction of well renowned choreographers Tessandra Chavez and Taura Hall. While on Unity, she had the opportunity to dance in a variety of shows including the Unity LA show dancing alongside the hottest dancers in the industry. After graduation, she attended Cal State Fullerton pursuing a major in Kinesiology. While attending Cal State Fullerton, she joined an outside hip hop team called The IV League Dance Co. and competed against a range of teams from all around. In addition, she has worked for and been involved with Boogiezone, a well-recognized dance corporation that invites dancers to take classes in a variety of styles. She has worked at Hart Dance Academy since 2013 while in school and has enjoyed growing and learning from the staff and students there. She is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Sport Psychology and is working with collegiate dancers cross the U.S. as part of her thesis. Laura has always had a heart for teaching kids and seeks to see them reach their highest potentials. She is truly appreciative of all that dance has done for her and wishes to give back and share her love for dance with others.
