Nayeli Rescalvo born and raised in Los Angeles, began training in various dance techniques at a young age. She received the opportunity to perform Musetta’s Waltz by Puccini at the Skirball Culture Center Theater for the Omni Youth Music Awards, winning the Omni Youth Award for Best Ballet Solo. Nayeli was the recipient of the Smaltzoff Dance Scholarship at Ballet/Dance Academy under the Artistic Director Yuri Smaltzoff and Miria Marken where she trained in Russian Ballet technique. She also studied Belly dance with world renowned Fahtiem and became a member of the Sultan’s Delites Belly Dance Company, touring all over California. In 2010, Nayeli graduated from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) where she trained in Horton, Contemporary Ballet, Commercial Dance, Lyrical, Ballet, and Modern. She received the opportunity to perform Falling Angels by Jiří Kylián under the direction of Fiona Lummis from Nederlands Dans Theater. Nayeli has also had the pleasure of being a guest artist with Nancy Evans Dance Theatre. Nayeli is a proud Alumni from California State University of Long Beach obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance (May 2015). During her time at CSULB she had the opportunity of performing featured main roles and various genres of dance techniques on and off stage from the faculty and guest artists including; Andrew Vaca, Fiona Lummis, Kristin Egusa Hollowaty, Sarah Swenson, Susan McLain, Alex Arnold Lee, and Sophie Monat. In 2011/2012 she was awarded into Cal State Long Beach Dean’s List and President’s Honor List in 2012 and plans to return in the future for her Teaching Credentials. Nayeli is thrilled to be a part of the Hart Academy of Dance faculty/family and the journey that lies ahead!
