Lauren Kim
STRETCH & STRENGTH, TECHNIQUE, AND TECHNIQUE & COMBOS INSTRUCTOR

Lauren Kim has been dancing since she was 18 months old. She began training and competing with CF Dance Academy in 2015, where she studied a wide range of styles including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and the Cecchetti method of ballet. Lauren successfully passed her Grade 9 Cecchetti examination and continued her training through Grade 10. Throughout her competitive dance career, she has earned numerous awards and scholarships at competitions including Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), MAXT Out, Kidz Carnival, Urban Street Jam, Countdown, and many others. At YAGP, she received multiple recognitions for both her small and large ensemble performances and was invited to compete at the prestigious New York Finals for two consecutive years. Lauren graduated from Sunny Hills High School in 2020, where she was a member of the Dance Production team and served as captain during both her junior and senior years. She later returned as the assistant coach for the program, coaching and choreographing from 2021 to 2024. Since 2018, Lauren has taught, choreographed, and coached dancers throughout Orange County, creating numerous award-winning routines for studios and school dance programs. Lauren is passionate about helping dancers grow not only in their technique, but also in their confidence, artistry, and love for dance. She is grateful for the opportunity to share that passion with the students at Hart Academy. Outside of the studio, Lauren earned her B.A. in Psychological Science from Pomona College and her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University. She currently works as a Marriage and Family Therapist, where she enjoys supporting the growth and well-being of children, adolescents, and families.
