Shana is from La Habra, California. She began dancing at the age of three and danced competitively at Hart Academy of Dance. Shana received many awards, scholarships, and recognitions while competing with Hart and was asked to join the dance company Team Rave LA, which she was a part of for four years. While dancing at Hart, she attended Mater Dei High School and was a part of their national championship winning Varsity Song Team for four years. She then continued her education at San Diego State University and was a member of their national championship winning dance team for five years and captain for three years. She received her degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in pre-physical therapy. While in college, Shana was a staff member for the Universal Dance Association (UDA) for two years, in which she traveled across the nation as an instructor at high school dance team camps. She was also an assistant choreographer for Tribe 99 Choreography’s Choreo-Connect, where she choreographed around the U.S. for high school and college dance teams. Shana works as a guest choreographer for local high school dance teams, and is one of the competition choreographers at Hart Academy. She has been dancing for 25 years and is continues to work toward her dream job of being a professional dancer. Her favorite dance styles include hip-hop, jazz, and contemporary. Shana strives to inspire, challenge, and push her dancers to their full potential, while also sharing her dance passion with them.
