Mila Gonzales
Mila Katarina Gonzales grew up in Sacramento, California and has been dancing ever since she was young. She started competition dancing at her home studio when she was eight years old. At that time, she branched out to many different dance styles. She trained in contemporary, hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap, and modern. Mila recently graduated from California State University, Fullerton, with a BA in Dance, magna cum laude, and a minor in Women and Gender studies. She has taught classes and choreographed hip hop and contemporary routines for her home studio, as well as taught master classes for her high school’s hip hop dance team as an alumni. While a junior in college, she choreographed a contemporary fusion piece in CSUF’s Spring Dance concert in 2023, which combined dance with a topic learned in a women and gender studies class. She has choreographed in CSUF’s “12×16”show both as a student and as an alumni. Since college, Mila has had many industry opportunities. Some of the opportunities include performing ”To the Hands”, with Pacific Chorale at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, and participating in authenticity’s training program. Mila was also a company dancer with Mounarath Powell Dance company located in San Diego for two seasons. She is currently a part of Lume Dance Company and Summit- contemporary fusion group. Mila has also been exploring background/extra work for music videos, shows, and more. Mila is passionate about movement and creativity. She enjoys teaching and continuously exploring the art.
