Steven McNamara

Steven McNamara is originally from the East Coast and relocated to Los Angeles after high school to pursue his passion for dance. During his training, he studied at New York City’s renowned Broadway Dance Center under industry professionals including Frank Hatchett, Sheila Barker, and Doug Caldwell. As a young dancer, he was recognized as one of New Jersey’s Top 12 Dancers, earning an invitation to the prestigious Governor’s School of the Arts for Dance. In addition to his dance training, Steven earned a degree in Graphic Design from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, bringing a strong creative eye to every aspect of his work. For more than 20 years, Steven has inspired dancers as an educator and choreographer, creating award-winning work for dance studios, high schools, and colleges across the country. His choreography has been recognized at both the regional and national levels for its creativity, artistry, and excellence. Steven currently serves as Head Judge for Velocity Dance Convention, traveling to more than 20 cities each season as a dance adjudicator, providing thoughtful feedback and helping thousands of dancers grow each year.
